The
Four Corners Area
The
Four Corners Area is the only place in the United States where four
states meet. This area which we call home is extremely rich in stunning
natural beauty, geological diversity and extensive Native American
history. It is often referred to as the archeological epicenter
of the United States. It is no wonder that our area is also home
to extensive cultural diversity, including a large and thriving
gay/lesbian population.
The
area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts including hikers, campers,
skiiers and mountain bikers. Visitors can explore extensive ancient
Native American ruins at Mesa Verde National Park, Ute Mountain
Tribal Park or countless other ruin sites, even many that remain
unexcavated and hidden away. You can marvel at the natural artwork
that water and wind have created over milennia at Arches National
Park, Natural Bridges National Monument, and awe inspiring Monument
Valley. The famed ski towns of Durango and Telluride have much to
offer year round and Native American culture is alive and well in
Towaoc and Shiprock. Farmington, New Mexico is our closest urban
center.
