MEETING MINUTES
KATHY/ Welcome, introduction of board members
There were approximately 30 people in attendance
for the meeting.
I. GREG / 4cGLAD Outreach Overview
Greg summarized 4cGLAD’s
involvement in the community. Following
are some of the areas of outreach.
Help was solicited from community
members who have interest in learning
more about any of these
activities.
- PRISM, Safe Zones, GSA, county, city, state, ManReach, WestCap
(AIDS/HIV testing), Out on the Colorado Plateau, other community
organizations (UNITY Project)
- 4cGLAD website, GLADline, Yahoo group
- Happy Hour
- Instinct Magazine
II. DIANE/ Events for 2008
Diane reviewed confirmed
and potential events for 2008. (see below.
confirmed events in BOLD.) Dawn
H. raised idea of a “spring fling”
dance. Will E. proposed
a prom.
Planning group trips to Denver
or ABQ Pride was discussed.
- Valentine’s Dance 2/16
- 4cGLAD Pride Picnic 5/31
- ABQ Pride 6/21-22

- DEN Pride 6/21-22
- Campout 7/16-20
- Halloween Dance 11/1
- AIDS Benefit 11/8
- New Year’s Eve dance 12/31
The point was made that the board has
its hands full with existing
events, so any new 4cGLAD events will need leaders
and volunteers
to step up to make them happen. Diane B. volunteered
to coordinate the
4cGLAD Relay for Life team. Kim F. volunteered
to coordinate a 4cGLAD
Habitat for Humanity volunteer day.
III. DIANE/ Goals for 2008
Diane discussed 4cGLAD’s goals
for the new year (below) and asked
for group input. Many expressed
a desire for 4cGLAD to be more visible
in the community. Nico B. discussed
the Out on the Colorado Plateau
queer symposium planned for April and
the opportunities for
involvement. 4cGLAD
would like to see more members become
involved with projects and events
and invited people to
contact board members if interested.
- Activity with city, county, state, GSA
- More outreach to LGBTQ groups
Other communities like Pagosa,
Cortez, Mancos, Native Americans, etc
Activities for different age groups
- Community Service Projects

IV. RICHARD/ Financials Overview
Richard discussed
balances on the three accounts managed by
4cGLAD. The account
that keeps the group operational has very
low funds so fundraising
was then discussed. Efforts to generate
new memberships and solicit
membership renewals will be stepped
up in 2008. Sabine F. agreed to
do grant writing if others would agree
to research grant opportunities.
Dawn H. and Kathy P. agreed to
research grant opportunities. Others
experienced in grant writing were
encouraged to help. Diane B. recommended
50/50 raffles as an easy-to-
implement fundraiser at dances
and other events. The idea of a golf
event as a fundraiser was raised.
- State of the 4cGLAD accounts (4cGLAD, AIDS, Safe School), debts,
etc.

Diane encouraged short-term
involvement for those members who
cannot make a year-long
board position commitment. Volunteer
opportunities will
be posted on the 4cGLAD Yahoo message board.
VII. Close meeting
